HAP's Emergency Management Conference provides the setting for professionals in emergency preparedness to discuss the opportunities and challenges for the future, network and collaborate on ways to move health care preparedness forward, and best practices for responding to life-threatening situations to keep your hospital and communities safe. This year's conference will be collocated with HAP's Patient Safety, Quality, and Equity Symposium. Hosting both of these events together will bring a diverse set of presenters centered on improving health care.

Coaching staff to higher levels of performance is one of the most important skill sets a leader must have. No one ever said leading was easy or comfortable, especially when a critical conversation needs to occur. This interactive session will provide practical strategies to help you become a more effective communicator, as well as provide hands-on practice in conflict management.

The HAP Compliance Officer Committee is composed of professionals working in compliance, regulatory affairs and oversight, accreditation, and patient safety at member hospitals across the state. The committee convenes quarterly to discuss federal and state legislative and regulatory issues, survey-related trends, and emerging issues.

The Pennsylvania Continuous Service Readiness Program (CSRP) is a joint effort between Joint Commission Resources (JCR) and The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) to structure and implement a program by which hospitals can receive education, consultation, and feedback on an ongoing basis from JCR and The Joint Commission (TJC) staff. This conference is limited to participants from CSR hospitals.

This session will focus on how to successfully process complex claims, specifically Veteran Administration (VA) and Workers Compensation claims. Attendees will learn how to work with the VA regarding expectations, updates, and appeals along with hearing relevant Workers Compensation updates and fee schedules in Pennsylvania that can impact revenue.
