News Release: HAP Statement on State’s Cancellation of Emergency Management Contract

Yesterday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced that, effective July 8, it will change vendors for its health care emergency management coordination. The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) president and CEO Andy Carter released the following statement in recognition of the HAP emergency management team.

News Release: Pennsylvania Hospitals Pay Millions in Fourth Installment of Hospital Assessment, Wait for State to Offer Financial Support

Faced with monumental financial losses, Pennsylvania hospitals today made the fourth quarterly installment of the Quality Care Assessment for fiscal year 2019-2020, in the amount of $250 million. Hospitals have now paid the entire $1 billion assessment. HAP is strongly advocating for the governor and General Assembly to support hospitals as they face projected losses of more than $10 billion from COVID-19.
