The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is a not-for-profit trade association based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which advocates for nearly 235 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care hospitals and health systems including primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.

HAP’s employees represent its membership in the legislative, regulatory, and health policy arenas in Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and regionally across the state.

The HAP team supports the association’s goal of advocating for a health care delivery environment that enables hospitals and health systems to provide accessible, affordable, quality care to all Pennsylvanians.

Accounting and Payroll Generalist

Are you looking for a career in which you can make a difference? Here is your opportunity. As a result of an internal promotion, The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania is seeking an Accounting and Payroll Generalist. This position will support the general accounting and payroll functions. Candidates will provide assistance to ensure accurate and timely payroll, analyze and reconcile financial activity and assist with month-end and compliance activities for HAP and its subsidiary organizations. This is a hybrid position (two days a week in the office).

Candidates for consideration must have at least an associate’s degree in accounting; a bachelor’s degree preferred. Successful candidates must also have:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, payroll processing, or related area; three to five years preferred
  • A solid understanding of basic accounting principles

In addition, the successful candidate must be detail-oriented and able to deal effectively with people at all levels.

Executive Assistant

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania is seeking an executive assistant. This position facilitates efficient execution of the Senior Vice President, Operations portfolio of activities by providing administrative support, vetting internal and external requests, directing assignments to appropriate staff, working closely with the Senior Vice President’s direct report team, and spearheading special projects for the Senior Vice President. This is a hybrid position (two days a week in the office).

Candidates for consideration must have a bachelor’s degree. Successful candidates will also have:

  • At least five years’ experience in administrative roles, or a combination of commensurate education and experience
  • A track record of leadership roles at work, school, athletics, and/or volunteer opportunities
  • An understanding of operational matters, committee organization and support, and administrative procedures
  • The ability to exhibit sound judgment to make appropriate independent decisions.
