The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is a not-for-profit trade association based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, which advocates for nearly 240 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care hospitals and health systems including primary care, subacute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.

HAP’s employees represent its membership in the legislative, regulatory, and health policy arenas in Harrisburg, Washington D.C., and regionally, including the southeast.

Content Manager

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a content manager. This position is responsible for creating effective and engaging multi-channel content for The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania family of brands to advance organizational objectives.

Today’s communications for HAP must tell our compelling stories to our audiences, and do so through state of the art methods of communication. This individual will:

  • Provide excellent writing for the association, its executives, and the hospital community
  • Will serve as a storyteller for hospitals and health care
  • Create content for our multiple email newsletters, social media channels, website, blogs, infographics, and videos

This team member will provide editing and proofreading supports to the organization, monitor analytics to determine content effectiveness, and suggest improvements.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Two or more years of professional experience in content creation, marketing, or related field
  • Strong storytelling and excellent writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with HAP staff and members

A background in health care, hospital and/or agency experience is a plus.

Director, Membership Engagement and Development

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a director, membership engagement and development. This position is responsible for membership support, engagement, and development strategies and plans.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work to strengthen engagement opportunities for members while implementing strategies that drive overall member value and satisfaction
  • Be responsible for the implementation of strategic projects focused on member recruitment and retention
  • Leveraging high energy and inspiring leadership skills, work closely with all departments to provide excellent member service and engagement resulting in strong retention
  • Ensure eligible institutions are informed of the benefits of joining HAP
  • Ensure current members are connected to resources to help them experience HAP’s value

In addition, this position will organize, train, and support HAP staff in fulfilling member relationship responsibilities, and support the HAP team with engagement strategies through regular communication, networking, and data sharing. The successful individual will maintain a current understanding about health care issues and trends.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, health care, or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Five to seven years of association or account management experience; experience should include membership associations, managing membership processes, member retention campaigns, leading member engagement efforts, data collection, analysis, synthesis, and reporting, including through survey tools and experience market research

Candidates should also have:

  • Experience developing presentations, conducting seminars, and participating in meetings with clients, external vendors, or advisers
  • Experience using and managing an association management system/customer relationship management platform

A background working in a hospital or health system is preferred.

Director, Political Finance and Engagement

The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) is seeking a director, political finance and engagement. This position is responsible for designing and executing political strategies and tactics to elect the best candidates for public office for HAP’s agenda. This includes overseeing independent expenditures on HAP political action. Responsibilities will also include identifying races for independent expenditures and HAPAC involvement. Use of polling, voter data and state of the art messaging tools is required.

Candidates for consideration must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, or related field
  • Experience with PAC fundraising
  • Familiarity with databases, Excel, mass email platforms and practices, and social media fundraising and messaging
  • Digital, television, and mail political advertising

Applicants should have five to seven years of professional experience, including campaigns and political action, preferably across the state.
