New Poll Shows that Voters Strongly Support Hospitals and Additional Financial Relief

A new public opinion poll released Thursday by the Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care reveals that the vast majority of American voters (76%) report an overwhelmingly favorable image of hospitals, regardless of party affiliation. The national survey, conducted during late June 2020 among 800 registered voters, also reveals that the vast majority of respondents recognize the immense financial strain hospitals face in the wake of COVID-19, with 75 percent of voters supporting additional financial COVID-19 relief in the amount of $100 billion for providers.

DHS Announced HealthChoices Procurement Awards; Five Protests Filed

On July 8, 2020, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) announced applicants selected to deliver care through HealthChoices, the Medical Assistance physical health managed care program that provides care to more than 2.6 million Pennsylvanians. As of July 9, 2020, five protests have been filed by four managed care organizations (MCO) following their non-selection.
