90 percent of Pa. schools submit required data on vaccination

The Pennsylvania departments of Health and Education released a new interactive tool to track school-level vaccination data.

Here’s what you need to know:

• About:  The tool includes data from the 2025–2026 school year, providing vaccination rates at the individual school level across the commonwealth.
• Big picture trends:  About half of schools have measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination rates at or above 95 percent, which is a key marker for community immunity.
  • More than 200 schools achieved a 100 percent MMR vaccination rate.
• Room for improvement:  The new interactive tool includes data from about 90 percent of Pennsylvania schools.
  • State officials said they are “actively partnering” with the remaining schools to ensure they follow requirements around reporting immunization data for kindergarten, 7th, and 12th grades.
• Why it matters:  Public health leaders in Pennsylvania and around the nation are on alert over the return of vaccine-preventable diseases, especially measles.
  • Pennsylvania’s kindergartner vaccination rate for MMR has declined in recent years to 93.2 percent.
