Practical Steps to Protect Your Federal COVID-19 Funding

On April 10, 2020, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) started the immediate release of $30 billion in relief funding to providers in support of the national response to COVID-19 as the first tranche of the distribution of the $100 billion provider relief fund provided for in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The vast majority of the funds have now been distributed by direct deposit to facilities and providers that received Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) reimbursements in 2019.
