Today HAP, in partnership with more than 50 other organizations and entities, released a statement encouraging Pennsylvanians to get their flu shot. As the flu season rapidly approaches, this effort aims to bring awareness to the importance of getting vaccinated. As rates of COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Pennsylvania and across the nation, medical and public health officials have become increasingly concerned with the impact of the convergence of the flu season and the worldwide pandemic.
Organizations joining the HAP-led effort included representation from health care, state government, public health, businesses, education, insurance, labor, transportation, and many other stakeholders in the commonwealth. The coalition will continue to promote the effort throughout the flu season and other organizations are encouraged to join.
To support this effort, Lyft, the ride-sharing company, is offering ride credits for people traveling to get a flu shot. Pennsylvanians can use the code PAFIGHTSFLU for rides to and from vaccination sites. Ride credits will be available until December 31, 2020, and additional terms may apply.
