As Pennsylvanians this year continue to maneuver through a holiday season filled—not with crowded stores and festive gatherings, but curbside pick-up and Zoom parties—remember that it’s also time to select your health insurance for next year through Pennie, Pennsylvania’s new state-based insurance exchange.
Pennsylvania’s Insurance Department launched Pennie during September and, for health insurance coverage for 2021, all Pennsylvanians have been transitioned from HealthCare.gov to Pennie.
The enrollment process is much easier with this new exchange; Pennie walks you through each step of the process of purchasing health insurance and provides easy to understand online information along the way. Information and materials are available in English, Spanish, and other languages using a limited English proficiency (LEP) resource.
Sign up by December 15, 2020, for insurance coverage that starts January 1, 2021. If you miss the December 15 deadline, you can still sign-up by January 15 for health insurance coverage that starts February 1, 2021.
