The outcome of this year’s election will be critical to those who work in health care because those who are elected will make important decisions that affect health care as well as Pennsylvania’s hospitals. HAP is supporting the American Hospital Association’s “We Care, We Vote” campaign and is encouraging hospital employees to register to vote and to vote on November 3.
Every day, Pennsylvania’s hospitals provide the highest-quality health care—especially during the COVID-19 emergency. That care is often influenced by the laws, policies, and rules put in place by state and federal lawmakers.
The We Care, We Vote initiative does not support any particular candidate for office. It provides information about where and how to register to vote, information on candidates and health care issues, and tools hospitals can use in their own organizations to raise awareness about the importance of voting.
In Pennsylvania, the deadline to register to vote in the November 3 election is October 19. Pennsylvania-specific voter information also is available at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s website, including answers to questions about:
During the 2016 election, only 61 percent of eligible citizens exercised their right to vote. We encourage you to exercise your civic duty by taking the time to register to vote, learn about the candidates and issues, and vote on November 3.
