As Americans continue limiting social interaction—many just emerging from their homes after months-long state mandates—a newly released Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) poll represents their views about some of the most significant details surrounding how COVID-19 has affected the country.

State General Assembly Allocates First Round of PA’s CARES Act Funding; Hospital Advocacy Still Needed

Today, the General Assembly confirmed a state budget covering the first five months of the 2020–2021 fiscal year (FY), House Bill 2387 (Saylor, R-York).In addition, the General Assembly approved a second budget measure, allocating a portion of the $3.9 billion in funds Pennsylvania received from the federal CARES Act. Hospital advocacy still is critical. HAP requests all hospital leaders and personnel text “COVIDRELIEF” to 313131. This will provide hospital advocates with an easy way to contact policymakers.

Health Care, Manufacturing, and Business Advocates Call for COVID-19 Liability Protections for “Smart Restart”

Today, HAP President and CEO Andy Carter joined members of the Pennsylvania Coalition for Civil Justice Reform for a virtual press conference to call on the Governor and the General Assembly to protect hospitals, health care providers, manufacturers, and businesses from meritless lawsuits during Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 disaster declaration and as the state gradually reopens.
