It’s All In the Details: REaL Data Collection

Overview

In order to effectively collect race, ethnicity, and language (REaL) data from patients, it is important to focus on the front line staff who will be interacting with patients to collect this data. During this virtual session, HAP will convene member hospitals to provide background on why educating front line staff is essential, what makes an effective workforce training program, and how participants can learn through various training techniques. Specific attention will be paid to the managers and leaders of front line staff that are invited to participate in this session. Following presentations from providers and informatics leaders, HAP will facilitate discussion with attendees and speakers to share common pitfalls and best practices in workforce training on REaL data collection.
