Newly Introduced Legislation

Here’s a look at some of the upcoming legislation coming to the Pennsylvania General Assembly that’s on our radar.

  • House Bill 2545 (Shusterman, D–Chester):  Requires insurance coverage for vaginal estrogen to treat menopausal symptoms. 
  • House Bill 2549 (Hohenstein, D–Philadelphia):  Provides the option to donate $5 to support the deaf and hard of hearing community when renewing a driver’s license.   
  • House Bill 2552 (Abney, D–Allegheny):  Allows Career and Technical Education (CTE) students to take their end-of-program exam as soon as they complete the required coursework.  
  • House Bill 2586 (Pashinski, D–Luzerne):  Prohibits an individual from practicing music therapy or holding themselves out as music therapists, without holding a valid certification. 
  • House Bill 2591 (K. Harris, D–Philadelphia):  Establishes a grant program to assist providers and facilities in establishing and maintaining prostate health education campaigns within their networks. 
  • House Bill 2592 (K. Harris, D–Philadelphia):  Requires an entity performing a prostate-specific antigen test to directly notify a patient whose prostate-specific antigen level is determined to be abnormal.  
  • House Bill 2593 (K. Harris, D–Philadelphia):  Establishes a public awareness campaign regarding prostate health and the importance of screening for prostate cancer. 
  • House Bill 2605 (Daley, D–Montgomery):  Provides Pennsylvanians with the explicit right to access and use fertility treatments.  
  • Senate Bill 1355 (Mastriano, R–Franklin):  Establishes a pilot program to support facilities providing innovative and promising care to Veterans with Traumatic Brain Injuries.  
  • Senate Bill 1352 (Brooks, R–Mercer):  Provides regulatory relief to qualifying addiction treatment providers in the commonwealth by allowing them to obtain a multi-year license from the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs instead of full annual inspections.
