Newly Introduced Legislation

Here’s a look at some of the upcoming legislation coming to the Pennsylvania General Assembly that’s on our radar.

  • Senate Bill 1403 (Farry, R–Bucks):  Provides for EMS to transport patients in crisis to the most appropriate local facilities.
  • House Bill 2673 (Venkat, D–Allegheny):  Requires insurers to provide coverage for all preventive services recommended by United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as of January 1, 2025.
  • Senate Bill 1389 (Pisciottano, D–Allegheny):  Establishes a tax credit for small businesses who contribute toward their employees’ health insurance premiums through a health reimbursement arrangement for insurance purchased through PENNIE.
  • Senate Bill 1399 (Santarsiero, D–Bucks):  Requires that existing EMS emergency plans be shared with local police, fire, and rescue squads and reviewed on an annual basis.
  • Senate Bill 1405 (Farry, R–Bucks):  Ensures that all first responders, responding to a fire/arson event are fully protected under the law.
  • House Bill 2678 (Pugh, R–Luzerne):  Provides profession-specific rules governing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by licensed professionals.
