HAP Board Sets Advocacy Priorities

The HAP Board of Directors met virtually last week and approved a health care Access Agenda that will guide HAP’s advocacy for hospitals during 2025–2026.  

Developed by HAP’s member Committee on Advocacy and Policy, the Access Agenda identifies state and federal advocacy priorities around the three areas of focus in HAP’s new strategic plan: Health care workforce, hospital stability, and health improvement and innovation.  

The agenda focuses on ensuring access to high-quality care for all Pennsylvanians through the following core principles: 

• Growing, diversifying, and protecting the health care workforce. 

• Supporting payments that sustain hospital care in communities.  

• Protecting access to adequate health care coverage. 

• Fostering a regulatory structure that supports modern care delivery.  

• Addressing social needs that affect Pennsylvanians’ health.
