Getting Ready for Election Day: 4 Things to Know

October 06, 2026

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. With the midterm election approaching, now is a good time to make sure you know when, where, and how you can vote in Pennsylvania.

Health care is a top policy issue for many Americans. Elections at the state and federal levels can shape policies and decisions that affect health care, communities, and the people they serve.

Here are four things to know ahead of Election Day:

  • Check your registration: The deadline to register to vote in the 2026 General Election is Monday, October 19. You can check your voter registration status online through the Pennsylvania Department of State.
  • Know where to vote: If you plan to vote in person, you can find your polling place and contact your county election office through Pennsylvania’s official election resources. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line by 8 p.m., you can still vote.
  • Voting by mail: The deadline to apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot is 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 27. Completed ballots must be received by your county election office by 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3.
  • Know what’s on your ballot: The 2026 general election includes races for governor, lieutenant governor, the U.S. House, and the Pennsylvania General Assembly, along with local races and other contests that vary by county.
