Tomorrow marks the 10th annual National Voter Registration Day, an important call to action to ensure everyone who is eligible has the chance to vote come November.
It’s estimated that as many as one in four eligible Americans aren’t registered to vote, according to Census data. National Voter Registration Day—a nonpartisan civic holiday—raises awareness about the importance of voting and helps people get registered before next month’s registration deadline.
“Every year, millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register,” the event organizers noted. “National Voter Registration Day wants to make sure everyone has the opportunity to vote.”
Here’s what you need to know about voter registration in Pennsylvania:
Organizers are looking to help register 800,000 people tomorrow, which would mean more than five million people have registered on the holiday since the first National Voter Registration Day during 2012.
