National Hospital Week shines a spotlight on the many ways Pennsylvania’s hospitals and health systems are always there for the communities they serve.
This week, HAP joins the American Hospital Association (AHA) and organizations across the country in celebrating the vital role hospitals play in keeping our communities healthy. The annual observance runs from Sunday through Saturday.
“During National Hospital Week, we thank Pennsylvania’s hospitals and health systems for their unwavering commitment to caring for our communities,” said HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings. “Our hospitals are leaders in innovation, advancing care across the commonwealth while working every day to build a healthier Pennsylvania for all. We are especially grateful to the dedicated hospital teams whose tireless efforts ensure patients receive high-quality, compassionate care.”
Throughout the week, HAP is highlighting how Pennsylvania hospitals strengthen their communities by demonstrating that:
- Hospitals’ top priority is ensuring access to high-quality care close to home—care that is provided to all, regardless of ability to pay.
- Hospitals serve as leading employers and economic anchors, helping to build vibrant communities where people want to live and businesses can grow. Pennsylvania hospitals have:
- Contributed $195.4 billion to state and local economies
- Supported 785,715 jobs across the commonwealth
- Generated $62.8 billion in wages, salaries, and benefits
- Pennsylvania hospitals are global leaders in health care innovation.
HAP encourages everyone to join the celebration by sharing messages of support on social media using #NationalHospitalWeek. Be sure to tag @HAPUpdates on X and HAP on LinkedIn.
This week is the perfect time to recognize and celebrate what your local hospital means to you.
