Advocacy Groups Stress the Critical Importance of Telemedicine During Emergencies

As coronavirus emerges as a potential threat, telehealth advocacy groups are advocating that Congress take action. Spearheaded by the Alliance for Connected Care, recommendations have been made to include a provision in the COVID-19 supplemental appropriations package that would allow telemedicine visits to be covered in traditional Medicare during the public health emergency.

Health Related Agencies Make Case for State Budget Proposals

This week the state’s agencies overseeing Pennsylvania’s health care presented their budget requests for the 2020–2021 fiscal year. The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Department of Health (DOH) both appeared separately before House and Senate Appropriation Committees.
