5 Things to Know: Election Day

November 4 is Election Day, and it’s time to make your vote count.
Health care is a top policy issue for many Americans. Odd-year elections don’t always receive the same attention as more high-profile races, but these elections shape Pennsylvania’s court structure and local political offices—and the health care issues that matter to you.
Here are five things to know ahead of Election Day:
 - Where to vote:  These online resources can help you find your polling place, check your voter registration status, or contact your election office.

 - Make your vote count:  If you’re among the million Pennsylvanians who applied for a mail-in ballot, the deadline for county election offices to receive mail-in and absentee ballots is 8 p.m. on Election Day.

  - Completed mail-in ballots received after that time do not count, even if they are postmarked before the deadline.

 - Mail-in status:  If you’ve already sent in your mail-in ballot, you can check the status on its delivery online.

 - Results:  Results form the state and federal races and county races will be posted online.

 - Quotable:  “Regardless of how you cast your ballot, your vote is valuable, and I encourage you to exercise your fundamental right to make your voice heard in this election,” said State Secretary Al Schmidt.
