Here’s a look at some of the upcoming legislation coming to the Pennsylvania General Assembly that’s on our radar.

  • Senate Bill 1350 (Collett, D–Montgomery):  Provides privacy protections for Pennsylvanians’ reproductive health data.
  • Senate Bill 1371 (Keefer, R–York):  Allows an eligible person to change managed care plans in certain instances.
  • Senate Bill 1373 (Brooks, R–Mercer):  Requires certain individuals who provide reimbursable Medical Assistance services in the home or community to obtain and use a National Provider Identifier.
  • Senate Resolution 332 (Gebhard, R–Lebanon):  Authorizes the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study on the budgetary impact of defrayal for state-based health insurance mandates.
  • House Bill 2611 (Kinkead, D–Allegheny):  Creates a new aggravated assault offense that would hold insurance company CEOs criminally liable when a denial of coverage for a medically necessary service results in a covered person's serious injury or death.
  • House Bill 2614 (Kosierowski, D–Lackawanna):  Provides for the phase-out of DEHP in IV bags and tubing. 
  • House Bill 2621 (Shusterman, D–Chester):  Provides permanent state funding for Pennsylvania’s Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System.
