Here’s a look at some of the upcoming legislation coming to the Pennsylvania General Assembly that’s on our radar.

  • House Bill 2508 (James, R–Venango):  Exempts Volunteer Fire and EMS agencies from the requirements of the Commonwealth’s Right-to-Know Law.
  • House Bill 2520 (Venkat, D–Allegheny):  Requires lay midwives to provide all patients with an informed consent form explaining their qualifications, training, practice authority, and written plan to address issues that may occur during labor, which the patient would sign.
  • House Bill 2550 (Mazzocco, D–Allegheny):  Establishes a tax credit for small businesses who contribute toward their employees’ health insurance premiums through a health reimbursement arrangement for insurance purchased through PENNIE.
  • House Resolution 528 (Cooper, R–Westmoreland):  Authorizes a study on pediatric acute-onset neuropsychiatric syndrome and pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections.
