Newly Introduced Legislation

Here’s a look at some of the upcoming legislation coming to the Pennsylvania General Assembly that’s on our radar.

  • House Bill 2480 (Ortitay, R–Allegheny):  Requires Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) on all electric utility worksites in Pennsylvania.
  • House Bill 2485 (N. Nelson, D–Montgomery):  Allows school districts to use School Safety and Security Grant funding to establish trauma-record systems.
  • House Bill 2486 (N. Nelson, D–Montgomery):  Requires school entities develop comprehensive student mental health support plans.
  • House Bill 2487 (N. Nelson, D–Montgomery):  Directs the Department of Human Services to establish communication pathways between county agencies and school personnel to share information about traumatic events involving students.
  • House Resolution 513 (Kosierowski, D–Lackawanna):  Requires the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to conduct a study on the financial and administrative impact of outdated hospital licensure regulations in Pennsylvania. 
  • Senate Bill 1305 (Culver, R–Luzerne):  Establishes minimum dementia-care training requirements for EMS personnel.
  • Senate Bill 1306 (Farry, R–Bucks):  Establishes a $10 million Hospital Security Grant Fund.
  • Senate Bill 1310 (Malone, D–Lancaster):  Enhances to the Employer Child Care Contribution Tax Credit Program by increasing the tax credit amount from 30% to 100% of the employer’s contributions.
  • Senate Bill 1316 (J. Ward, R–Blair):  Supports Medicaid reimbursement for long-term care providers by creating timelines and interim payment procedures.
  • Senate Bill 1319 (Picozzi, R–Philadelphia):  Provides eligibility to all Pennsylvanians for a Physical Health Improvement Tax (PHIT) Credit of up to $1,000.
  • Senate Bill 1321 (Gebhard, R–Lebanon):  Prohibits use of state funds for gender transition of minors.
  • Senate Resolution 312 (Brooks, R–Mercer):  Designates the week of May 10 through 16, 2026, as "National Hospital Week" in Pennsylvania.
