Here’s a look at some of the upcoming legislation coming to the Pennsylvania General Assembly that’s on our radar.

  • Senate Resolution 266 (Schlegel-Culver, R-Columbia):  Designates the month of April 2026 as "Pennsylvania Donate Life Month" in Pennsylvania.
  • House Bill 2378 (Madden, D-Monroe):  Expands Pennsylvania’s current influenza vaccine offering requirement from age 65 and older to individuals age 50 and older.
  • House Bill 2379 (M. Brown, R-Lawrence):  Requires licensed professionals who provide maternity care to complete at least four hours of continuing education in trauma-informed care as a condition of licensure renewal.
  • House Bill 2385 (Stender, R-Northumberland):  Transfers oversight of minor participation in volunteer emergency services from the Department of Labor and Industry to the office of the State Fire Commissioner.
  • House Bill 2386 (Guzman, D-Berks):  Establishes a certification-based framework with uniform requirements for education, training, and professional accountability in the optical profession.
  • House Bill 2390 (Malagari, D-Montgomery):  Joins Pennsylvania into the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact.
  • Senate Bill 1292 (Picozzi, R-Philadelphia):  Establishes licensure and standardized licensing process for art therapists in Pennsylvania.
  • Senate Bill 1289 (Keefer, R-York):  Requires health care entities to give patients plain-language summaries of coverage, costs, and rights before care is delivered.
