Relieving the Youth Mental Health Strain: Strategic Interventions for Youth Behavioral Health Referrals, Provider Burnout, and ED Overcrowding

Location: Online

Registration Deadline: October 09, 2026

Overview

Across Pennsylvania, pediatricians and emergency care providers are facing an unprecedented surge in youth mental health crises.

When clinicians navigate complex behavioral cases without efficient referral pathways, stress mounts and burnout accelerates. With nowhere else to send these patients, emergency departments become the default safety net, driving severe overcrowding, rising operational costs, and physical space constraints across entire health systems.

Join us for an educational webinar tailored for health care executives and operational leaders. Grounded in real-world health system experience, this session demonstrates how Bend Health streamlines pediatric behavioral health operations. Attendees will discover how scalable interventions alleviate clinician burnout, optimize ED capacity, and lower operational overhead, all while ensuring patients receive timely, specialized care.

The session will conclude with a live 15-minute Q&A, giving our lead clinician the opportunity to answer questions directly from hospital executives, chief executive officers, and clinical directors.

Learning Objectives

Participants will learn to:

  • Address one of the top drivers of clinician burnout
  • Evaluate how behavioral health referral dead-ends contribute to provider stress and identify how Bend provides reliable clinical support
  • Optimize referral pathways and ED throughput
  • Discuss how scalable interventions streamline patient placement, reduce pediatric triage delays, and free up critical ED space
  • Demystify the continuum of youth mental health care
  • Understand the different levels of pediatric behavioral health care and explore how a full-continuum partner streamlines care delivery, ensuring rapid, appropriate placement across all levels of care
