DataGen Overview of Medicare’s RRP/HAC Programs

Location: Online

Registration Deadline: June 17, 2021

Overview

Three Medicare quality-based pay-for-performance programs are now impacting hospital inpatient payments. Currently, six percent (6%) of Medicare inpatient fee for service (FFS) payments will be in jeopardy due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandated Value-based Purchasing (VBP) Program, Readmissions Reduction Program (RRP), and Hospital Acquired Condition (HAC) Reduction Program.

HAP is hosting a two-part educational webinar program to help members better understand Medicare’s quality-based payment reforms.

The first webinar in this two-part series, you will learn how to understand Medicare’s Value Base Purchasing Program, and the impact on a hospital’s revenue. This webinar will be held on June 9

The second webinar in this two-part series is designed to help you understand RRP and HAC, and their impact on your hospital’s revenue. This webinar will be held June 21, 2021.

The webinars will be conducted by HAP’s data analytics partner, DataGen. DataGen, a subsidiary of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS), contracts with 48 state hospital associations and 8 multi-state health systems to research and analyze the financial impact of regulatory and legislative changes on Medicare reimbursement to hospitals and health systems.

Make plans to attend these learning sessions to ensure that your hospital is doing everything it can to improve its chances for success. This is especially important since the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is constantly redefining these programs.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this webinar, the participants will have a better understanding of:

  • Overview of Medicare’s RRP and HAC Programs
  • Methodologies
  • PA’s RRP and HAC Reports
