Pennie and the American Rescue Plan: How Front-Line Hospital Staff and Financial Counselors Can Help Patients Get Health Care Coverage or Qualify for More Help

Location: Online

Registration Deadline: May 05, 2021

Overview

Pennie has replaced Healthcare.gov as Pennsylvania's marketplace for high quality health and dental insurance options. In Pennsylvania, there is a COVID-19 Special Enrollment Period (SEP) during which individuals can enroll in health coverage or change plans. As a result of significant savings made possible by the American Rescue Plan, Pennie has extended the enrollment deadline until August 15, 2021. Like no other time in our commonwealth's history, 2021 is the optimal year to help the uninsured get coverage that can significantly improve their health and quality of life.

In partnership with The Hospital and Health System Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), Pennie will provide a special education session for frontline health care workers. The webinar will focus on the following:

  • An overview of pennie.com
  • Why the COVID-19 Special Enrollment Period is so important
  • What is the American Rescue Plan?
  • How to determine financial assistance using Pennie
  • How to guide patients through Pennie's Comparison Shopping Tool
  • Resources for patients and for community partners
  • How to order Pennie educational materials for your office
  • How to become an Assister

Pennie's goal with this webinar is to better educate those who are most frequently asked questions about health insurance options and how to pay for that coverage in their daily work. As partners in our commonwealth's hospitals and health centers—you matter to Pennie. Pennie is here to help you and those in your community.
