Overview
On September 22, 2020, Pennsylvania debuted its new state-based insurance marketplace, Pennie.com, for residents who want to buy individual health coverage. Open enrollment through Pennie begins on November 1, 2020, and runs through January 15, 2021. With Pennie’s launch, Pennsylvania joins 14 states that run their own health insurance marketplaces, rather than relying on the federal marketplace.
This webinar will include a brief walk-through of the consumer shopping and enrollment processes so hospital staff will have first-hand experience and knowledge of available resources to answer questions you will get from patients starting on November 1. Participants will get an overview of the online tools, how the call center operates, when patients can expect responses and how various state agencies are working together to ensure a smooth implementation. Finally, we will review how this change gives Pennsylvania more control over the insurance marketplace so we can better serve the needs of our citizens.
