HAP has developed two publications to assist members in helping patients and consumers better understand what hospitals do to assure quality, and what patients and consumers can do to partner with hospitals to have a quality experience.
Partners In Quality: Taking an Active Role in Your Health Care
(803 Kb English pdf file or 844Kb Spanish pdf file) is a 16-page, easy-to-read guide designed to help consumers take a more active role in their health care.
What We Do to Assure Quality Care
(277 Kb English pdf file) is a 12-page guide to educate patients about the many quality assurance activities in Pennsylvania hospitals and health systems. The guide addresses quality assurance measures taken while the patient is in the hospital and after a patient has been released, as well as an explanation of quality reviews done by outside organizations. The result is an attractive, consumer friendly brochure that helps hospitals and heath systems educate their patients about quality assurance activities in their organizations.
Suggested uses include sharing the brochures during pre-admission testing, as well as keeping copies of the brochures in waiting rooms and in admission packets.
They can be ordered through HAP’s Membership Services Department in bulk quantities. Both publications are designed to allow a hospital logo to be imprinted on the back, if desired.
