On March 16, state House of Representatives leadership announced that it will allow members to participate in legislative sessions remotely. The unprecedented change in rules comes in response to Governor Wolf’s call to limit large, enclosed gatherings to help mitigate the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Wolf Administration, HAP Announce Changes to Support COVID-19 Public Health Efforts

Today, the Governor Wolf  ordered enhanced mitigation techniques—to promote social distancing—statewide. AP also announced that it has instituted a telework policy for its staff. During this time, most of HAP’s staff—especially its Emergency Management (EM) staff and Coronavirus Support Team (CRT)—office will be fully productive from their homes while they practice social distancing.

News Release: HAP Statement on PA's First Presumptive Positive Cases of COVID-19

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf today announced the commonwealth’s first presumptive positive cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Governor Wolf also signed a COVID-19 disaster declaration to support the state's response. Mark Ross, CHEP, vice president, emergency management of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP), released the following statement.
