‘Engage for Health’
A COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM TO IMPROVE HEALTH LITERACY
Supporting strategies that improve person- and family-centered care is a priority for HAP. This includes helping hospitals encourage individuals to take an active role in their health and care.
In 2014, HAP and its Pennsylvania Hospital Engagement Network developed Engage for Health and partnered with Pennsylvania libraries to conduct community education programs across the state.
With the support of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NNLM), HAP’s popular, proven program has grown beyond Pennsylvania. Hospitals, libraries, and health care providers across the nation are working together to conduct Engage for Health programs.
You can find complete Engage for Health information, tools, and training resources at the NNLM website.
