Transforming your culture to support a more-inclusive environment for your team members, patients and communities requires an intentional strategy and commitment to integrate equity and inclusion into all aspects of your organization and your leadership approach. Kristie Tobias will explain how to lead a change-ready, inclusive environment.

In order to effectively collect race, ethnicity, and language (REaL) data from patients, it is important to focus on the front line staff who will be interacting with patients to collect this data. During this virtual session, HAP will convene member hospitals to provide background on why educating front line staff is essential, what makes an effective workforce training program, and how participants can learn through various training techniques. Specific attention will be paid to the managers and leaders of front line staff that are invited to participate in this session. Following presentations from providers and informatics leaders, HAP will facilitate discussion with attendees and speakers to share common pitfalls and best practices in workforce training on REaL data collection.

HAP, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Coalition against Rape and the Penn State SAFE-T Center, will be hosting an educational program regarding existing and new regulations impacting sexual assault forensic exams. In addition, a panel of topical experts will share feedback and best practices from their experience implementing programs and processes of care at facilities across the state.
