Policymakers and health care payors are implementing alternative payment models in an effort to control the growth of health care spending and to encourage providers to deliver high-value care. One groundbreaking approach is the Pennsylvania Rural Health Model, a pilot program in partnership with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Rural Health Redesign Center Authority.

Visitation policies have become increasingly complex as hospitals aim to balance patient needs with infection control and staff safety considerations. Establishing guidelines to determine who can visit which patients while keeping patients and staff safe can prove to be challenging. Hear perspectives from a panel of HAP member hospitals who will share their current practices and considerations for visitation policies during the flu season and the resurgence of COVID-19.

This call will provide updates on HAP’s advocacy work in support of the response to COVID-19, and to seek feedback from members on HAP’s COVID-19 response and associated operational and policy-related challenges.
