The project will offer a culture of safety curriculum, and promote the use of strategies that foster a culture of safety, including Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS), and integrate culture of safety surveys into various projects where appropriate.
The Hospital Engagement Network will offer hospitals the opportunity to participate in number of different projects to reduce adverse events and prevent complications. There are ten events that are targeted under this contract. These projects will allow Pennsylvania hospitals and health systems to engage in learning collaboratives, education through a variety of modalities, coaching and networking sessions, measurement of performance and outcomes, consultant on-site visits, and other proven strategies that have demonstrated results in preventing patient harm, complications, and readmissions.
The HAP website will provide broad-based information as implementation of the project proceeds, including HAP memos and other high-level communications. The Patient Safety Authorityis developing an area on its website to house all detailed project materials and resources.
