About PAHA
The Pennsylvania Association of Hospital Auxiliaries (PAHA)
Last Updated: 2/23/2012
The Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Auxiliaries (PAHA) is an independent organization founded in 1951 to help member auxiliaries better serve and support their healthcare organizations.
PAHA membership is open to any auxiliary or volunteer service organization of a healthcare facility, which is eligible for membership in The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP).
PAHA is affiliated with The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP). Through this alliance, PAHA receives staff support and legislative information. This affiliation helps further the objectives of each organization, especially PAHA’s efforts to enhance patient and community health, and HAP’s efforts to represent its members.
Vision To be leaders in the transition of healthcare delivery in the 21st century with member auxiliaries who serve the community through these new systems.
Mission To assist member auxiliaries in promoting the general welfare of healthcare delivery systems in Pennsylvania, by providing continuing education for members in order to strengthen and develop the various auxiliary services within the healthcare delivery systems and the communities which they serve.
Auxiliary Handbook Healthcare Auxiliary Handbook is available at $25.00 per copy. You can order your own copy of this advice-packed, useful book. Many auxiliaries are ordering copies for all of their officers and committee chairman. The Handbook tells what, when, why and mostly how to meet organizational problems.

PAHA Advocacy Efforts PAHA’s legislative network consists of the PAHA Legislative Chairman, the six region legislative chairmen and the auxiliary legislative chairmen. Information is shared within this network and communicated to auxilians across the state. The PAHA Legislative Chairman and the six region legislative chairmen receive legislative information directly from The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) from
HAP Update
and from this website. From this information, decisions are made concerning specific legislation and what grassroots advocacy action auxilians should take. Auxilians then coordinate any grassroots advocacy efforts with the appropriate individuals within their hospital or health system.
