HAP Announces 2017 Achievement Award Winners
July 26, 2017
Pennsylvania is home to some of the most cutting-edge hospitals in the country. Its leadership and medical staff are constantly looking to the future of health care.
The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) annually recognizes innovative Pennsylvania hospital efforts through its respected Achievement Awards program, which began during 1978.
Winners were chosen for Community Champions, Optimal Operations, In Safe Hands, and Excellence in Care. The “Living the Vision Award” recognized one hospital that demonstrated accomplishments in all dimensions of the Triple Aim of improving population health and the patient experience, while reducing health care costs.
“The HAP Achievement Awards recognize hospital initiatives that innovate and transform Pennsylvania’s health care delivery system,” said Andy Carter, president and CEO. “The 2017 winners sought to answer health care’s most challenging questions, and their work will benefit their communities for years to come.”
“We congratulate the winners and thank each and every hospital that submitted an entry,” Carter continued. “Their work goes above and beyond the call to duty.”
Thirteen winning programs were selected from 108 entries this year. The 2017 HAP Achievement Award winners are:
Community Champions Award
Optimal Operations Award
In Safe Hands Award
Excellence in Care Award
Living the Vision Award
Entries were evaluated by a 12-judge panel. The panelists, drawn from Pennsylvania and across the nation, represented the public and private sectors, health care and business organizations, and investor-owned and nonprofit entities.
